*CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK*

date posted: 11/02/2022

Dear Families,

*CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK*

Today was wear a scarf for children's mental health day and we have talked in classes all week about managing emotions and identifying people to talk to when things get tough. It is so important that we support everyone in the school community and always check in with friends and family, but also those we see sometimes out and about that maybe we don't know so well. There are plenty of resources for adults here - https://www.mind.org.uk/ and for children here https://www.place2be.org.uk/our-services/parents-and-carers/.

*A LONG  HALF-TERM*

It has been a difficult half term since the beginning of January and I wanted to thank all the staff and children for making this time easier for me to manage. Some classes have had a bit of disruption and this has been unavoidable. But everyone has adapted and coped so well - this flexibility and commitment is remarkable and extremely valuable. We have also needed a lot of resilience to get through to half term, so thank you again.

CHILDREN'S ART WORK ON DISPLAY*

You may have already noticed the artwork by the children which is displayed to the public on Old Oak Common Lane. Last year the school worked with the contractors at HS2 project and the children prepared pictures to brighten up the hoardings . These will be on display while the development is completed this will be seen by many thousands of people. Please see the attachment to see the hoarding as it is now.

*HALF TERM EVENTS*

Please remember to continue the reading over the half term- Shepherds Bush library is open and there will be events taken place there. The museums in central London are also free to visit. I have attached a couple of websites with events going on over half term, which may be helpful if you are looking for things to do with the family.
