*EVENTS IN SCHOOL THIS WEEK*

date posted: 05/11/2021

Dear families,

*EVENTS IN SCHOOL  THIS WEEK*

We are slowly developing our curriculum enrichment again with our school partners helping out. This week alone we have had specialists in from the Museum of London working with our Years 5 and 6 talking about the Blitz and Remembrance, Year 4 have enjoyed professional cricket coaching, the early years children have worked with the Royal College of Music, the professional music teachers have worked with all the classes and Mike from QPRFC has been in as usual. The school counsellor and Family Group have both taken place and clubs after school. The Old Oak Early Years Education Centre has welcomed their children in- it is wonderful to see the younger children here, as young as 7 months! The place feels alive again and we hope that by working together we can continue to keep safe and busy as winter approaches.

*ATTENDANCE*

You will have received my letter yesterday about attendance. The school has to work with you as parents and carers about keeping children in school without taking too many risks. This is a partnership between home and school. It is a real challenge but after 2 interrupted years, children need to be in school as often as possible while staying safe.

*CLUBS*

The clubs after school have begun - multisports, Money Sense, English catch up, and German club - and there are spaces available. Please pay with Pay 360 (SIMS Pay). We are a cashless school now and all payments should be made on this app. This includes school lunches and future events. If you have trouble with this, then please contact frontdesk@oldoak.lbhf.sch.uk or 0208 743 7629.

*FLU VACCINATION - TUESDAY 9th NOVEMBER*

The flu vaccination nasal spray takes place next Tuesday. All forms should have been returned by now but if you missed the deadline, please contact the school on Monday at the very latest.

*REMEMBRANCE*

Thank you for buying the poppies this week. We will mark the occasion, as we always do, with a 2 minutes silence on 11th November.

*EVENTS NEXT WEEK*

Good luck to all the Year 6 children going to the farm at Wick Court next week and we have the Life Bus in school. Sarah, the teacher, will work with every class on developing confidence, staying safe and healthy and making good choices.

Have a good weekend.

Best wishes
