World Book Day

date posted: 25/02/2022

Dear families,

*WORLD BOOK DAY*

World Book Day is taking place next Thursday, 3rd March. Please come dressed as a character from your children's children's book. In the ks1 corridor, staff are completing a guide to their favourite children's books. From this, the children may be introduced to new stories to enjoy!

*COVID UPDATE*

With the announcement yesterday about the end of isolation, can I stress that for the school we ask you to continue to isolate your child at home if he/she has any Covid symptoms. The latest government guidance is below and this is clear about how we should behave.

Children and young people with COVID-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious. They should take an LFD test from 5 days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these tests results are negative, they should return to their educational setting if they normally attend one, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature. They should follow the guidance for their educational setting.

*NURSERY AND RECEPTION PARENTS - END OF THE DAY*

From Monday, 28th February, parents of children in the nursery and reception classes will be allowed into the playground to collect their children from the classroom. This is to keep the children safe and reduce the risk of things going wrong with the younger children. For the moment, the procedures at the other gates (key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2) will remain the same.

*SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAMS*

The school football teams have had a good week, the girls fought hard for a 0-0 draw and the boys played superbly for a 2-0 victory. It is looking hopeful for the rest of the season.

Best wishes

Joe
