Laurel Class

Hi Laurel Class,

I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. I know it’s tough to be at home for this length of time and I’m sure you are missing Old Oak a lot! I am missing you all, your smiley faces and wonderful stories. Your parents and carers have been telling me about all the fantastic learning you’ve been doing at home and I’m looking forward to seeing it all when we go back to school.

  • I hope you are all reading everyday.Laurel class are the most fantastic Year 3 readers and it’s important that we keep practicing as much as we can.Try reading to an adult but if they’re busy read to a brother or sister or even a teddy bear. Everyone likes a story!

  • Perhaps you could ask your parent or carer to test you on the spelling words from your home learning pack and see how you do?

  • Don’t forget to keep practicing your times tables on TT Rockstars and I’ll make sure to print out certificates for those that do.

I’m also trying to keep as busy as possible. We are going for a walk everyday to get some fresh air which is a great thing to do.  I’m planning some of your lessons and doing lots building with Lego, making things with playdough and colouring in with Liam. We are collecting used toilet rolls, empty boxes and cartons and doing lots of junk modelling. It’s lots of fun and there are great ideas on the internet.

At the end of each day I like to write a short diary entry about what I did that day and how I am feeling. It’s a great way to practice handwriting and it’s a great way to remember these days when we are older.

You are doing such a fantastic job at home and I’m so proud of you all. I will be in touch again soon and fingers crossed we will all be back in our lovely classroom doing lots of learning very soon.

Take care,

Miss Lynch
