E Safety

At Old Oak, we offer a broad and balanced Computing curriculum.  Not only  do children learn everyday computer skills such as word processing and e-safety, they are equipped with skills for the future by receiving lessons in computer coding and game design. Children are encouraged to develop creative and problem solving skills through the national curriculum, extracurricular activities and clubs.

Children at Old Oak  use the Internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we regularly teach e-safety through digital literacy lessons to ensure that children know how to use the internet in a safe and responsible manner. The school runs a secure filtering system to prevent children from accessing inappropriate material.

At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the Internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of material (both good and bad). At Old Oak, we run regular e-safety sessions to enable parents to create a safe and secure digital environment for their children.
