Key Stage 1 Home Learning

Hello Key Stage 1

We hope you continue to be safe and happy at home and that you are able to complete your home learning successfully! Remember you can order a paper copy from the school office.

The school is now open for Year 1 pupils. Social distancing measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of all pupils and staff. If you are in Year 1 and want to attend you must inform the school beforehand.

Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have:

Keep practising:

PHONICS/GRAMMAR/SPELLING – Keep practising all the phonics sounds from Phase 2-5. Try and sound out any new words you find – don’t forget your superman arm!

Year 1 SPaG 6th July

Year 2 SPaG 6th July

These handy links will tell you where to find some great phonics videos!

Year 2 - continue to revise the Year 1 phonics sounds. You should also try and practise your grammar and sentence skills. Try and write a few sentences each day - these can be about anything you want, Perhaps you could write about your day? Use the mats below to help you.

SPELLING – Can you spell all the Year 1 and 2 Common Exception Words?

You could LOOK,COVER,WRITE, CHECK the words or ask an adult to test you. You could print this LOOK, COVER, WRITE, CHECK sheet or make your own.

READING – Continue reading as much as you can at home. You should have reading books from your teacher, as well as book you chose from the school library. Try to read your book to a grown up and share the story with them – grown-ups like stories too!

Your parents have been sent your class log in for Oxford Owl. Here you can find lots of books to read online. You can choose a book for your age but try and challenge yourself! You can also listen to the book being read to you. Click the link below and choose My Class Log In.

STORY WRITING - Writin a story is a fun way of geting your imagination going and putting all your fabulous writing skills into practise. Whenever you get some time, why not write a story! You can write about anything you want but have a look at these prompt sheets if you need some help.

You can write your story on paper - you could even make a mini book and design a front cover!

MATHS – It is so important that you know your number bonds to 10 and number bonds to 20. Keep practising these. You can also practise your times tables. Focus on the 2x, 3x, 5x and 10. If you want to challenge yourself you could start to learn the others. There are some great videos on YouTube to help you.
