OFSTED

As a school community, we are committed to continuous improvement. Regular reviews of the culture of the school, self-reflection, pupil progress, audits of subjects, and external visits form part of this commitment. We also have regular visits from Ofsted (The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills) who inspect the school according to specific criteria. We had an inspection in June 2023 and the report is below.

The report began with:

This is a very happy school at the heart of its community. Pupils said that their peers and adults alike are polite, kind and helpful. Pupils and staff described the school as being a family. Leaders place a huge emphasis on developing pupils’ character and social consciousness. From the start in early years, staff set high expectations for behaviour and attitudes. Leaders underpin all their work by continuously instilling and modelling a set of shared values. Pupils are demonstrably respectful and empathetic. Their behaviour is excellent, and incidents of misbehaviour are rare.

Old Oak OFSTED Inspection 2023

Our previous Ofsted report in 2018 stated: 'The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the previous inspection. You set clear expectations for staff and pupils, underpinned by the school’s values. This leads pupils to say that these values ‘help us to become better people’.' 'You have created a caring and inclusive school. This is recognised by staff, pupils and parents and carers.'
