Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils. The funding provides support for pupils who fall into the following categories:

  • Pupils who are eligible for free school meals or who have been eligible for free school meals in the last six years.
  • Pupils who are currently looked after by a Local Authority.
  • Pupils whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

At Old Oak, we are committed to ensuring that Pupil Premium funding is used to:

  • Raise attainment and promote social skills
  • Narrow or close the gap between the achievement of the identified pupils and their peers
  • Raise pupil attainment through the provision and implementation of a variety of educational support programmes.  Focus on and address the underlying inequalities between the identified pupils and their peers with regard to pupil well-being and academic development.
